smiles. or scams. or both. the trip here to bangkok was full of a number of
minor problems--the airline required me to buy a ticked I did not want (?!),
the 'guide' didn't show up at the airport. the taxi wanted to suggest a
different hotel. or maybe a massage.
After that things have been looking up! there's more going on than internet
cafes--tonight is the conjunction of Loy Krathong, the full moon (which are
always the same night), and Halloween, so there is lots going on. The canals
are full of flowers and people are out in numbers. Bangkok is most
definately not Seattle!
